The Big Ideas Factory

The Big Ideas Factory is an evening of thought provoking debate and networking, held in the Ron Cooke Hub’s purpose built innovation space, on the brand new Heslington East campus extension.

Special guests, Christian Majgaard, Lucy P. Marcus and Rachel Armstrong, will each offer their own unique perspectives on the subject of innovation in business. Each of our guests is a leader in his field and their collective experience covers the core business areas of marketing, branding, finance, sustainability and, of course, innovation.

Christian Majgaard is the former Top Global Executive of Lego, and was key in developing the Legoland Parks and securing the Harry Potter Lego licence.

Lucy P. Marcus is CEO of Marcus Venture Consulting and was recently voted amongst the top 50 most powerful Britons on Twitter by the Independent newspaper.

Rachel Armstrong is a Senior TED Fellow and a specialist in sustainable technologies and architecture.

Please see the attached biographies for a more detailed description of each guest’s business successes.

Following individual presentations, our guests will come together for a panel discussion, where there will be an opportunity for audience members to put their questions to the panellists.
